About the Artist

Ever since Keira’s eyes first opened she has been taking in the world around her ready to ask questions and reflect with feeling. Throughout her childhood, she documented the small town she grew up in to the best of her abilities and found a passion for dance. She connected with this art form because it lended her the stage to tell a story, even if it wasn’t her own, through movement and the body’s unique ability to express emotion that she felt she couldn't quite master with a paint brush yet.

Itching to get out and explore the world, she applied to and was thrilled to get into the Freshman Florence Experience through Marist College. Unfortunately, due to the Covid pandemic the program was cancelled and she attended the Poughkeepsie campus for two years before ultimately deciding it was not the right path for her.

She has now moved back to her hometown and has continued to create and learn new techniques. Keira’s work continues to be a reflection of the world around her; snapshots of her travels, inner desires manifested, moments with loved ones, feelings and memories. She has worked in watercolor and gauche on smaller projects and commissions, as well as mixed media as she continues to experiment and learn. The majority of her time in the studio is spent creating small projects; jewelry, bookmarks, collages, and small sketches. When she is truly inspired she turns to oil paint which she has found to be emotionally descriptive as it lends so much flexibility to the project, making the process more fulfilling.

New Collection

My first collection I am releasing is a small piece of the work I did while attending Marist College studying fashion design. The work I did at this time has inspired my current work and I am grateful for the techniques I took away from the design program.
